Bake sale craziness = tiny blog hiatus

March 8, 2010

This week is going to be so insanely busy. Every night I’ll be baking for the Chile bake sale on Friday. Every single darned night. After I get home fro work and after dinner is done. I’ll be making wild blueberry donut holes, peanut butter chocolate swirl brownies, gingerbread scones, chocolate-orange muffins, and chocolate cherry pillow cookies. And I’m not sure I’m limiting myself to these things. Sound a little crazy, hectic, daunting, scary, messy? Yes. I think so. Because of my anticipated sugar coma, I’ll be taking a brief hiatus this week and will be back on Saturday with pics of another (cross my fingers) successful bake sale.

In the meantime, here are some of the most awesome things I have come across today while perusing my feeds in Google Reader:

The Stitch Cursive font – a font that looks like hand embroidered lettering (via MyFonts)

Best Knitting Tutorials – chosen from YouTube by Lisa at Adjective Robot

Queen of Hearts font – (via Totally Severe – check out her AWESOME and FREE downloads section too!)

Easy DIY Notebook Cover – use a bit of fabric and fusible interfacing to fancy up a less than pretty notebook (via CraftyPod)

Quick Skinny Jeans – repurpose a pair of your jeans into a new pair of skinny jeans (via Mmmcrafts)

Ganache TrufflesBecky from craftzine shares an Instructibles tutorial on how to make your own filled truffles

100+ Fat-quarter Tutorials – give Jojo a high-five for this crazy long, crazy fantastic list (via A Bit of This and a Bit of That)

Customizable Recipe Cards – so much fun and totally free! (via Skip to My Lou)

Gorgeous tissue paper flowers – a long but fantastic tutorial by Lolly of LollyChops

And for good measure, here’s a massive and fantastic archive on Flickr of vintage images from lovely Agence Eureka in France (that’s one of her images above, which, ironically, depicts the same kind of craziness that is ensuing in my kitchen).

Have a wonderful week, everyone!

P.S. After this, I plan on spending a week or so updating the (unintentionally) much neglected Vegan Spoon blog, but I’ll still pop in here for a few posts.
